Geologic Time Scale


1. What were three major geologic events in the history of the Earth?
The three major geologic events in the history of earth are volcanic eruptions, earthquakes and dinosaurs.

2. How many Eras, Eons (periods or epochs) are there?
There is two Eons it is Phanerozoic and Precambrian, for Eras there's four Cenozoic, Mesozoic, Paleozoic and Proterozoic, eleven periods and seven epochs.

 3. What do you think are the differences between an Eras and Eons?
Eons: is the largest unit of Geological Time Scale separated on the basis of life present or absent.
Eras: is the second largest unit of Geological Time Scale that is separated of the basis of geological changes that earth has undergone.

4. Why did scientists create Eras and Eons in the first place?
Scientists create Eras and Eons so that we could know what happen million years ago and the names of the events, then we could learn the scale and know about our world.
